Display Differences Between the Editing Form and Published Content

As you create content for your website, you may notice that what you see in the editing form does not match exactly how the content is displayed on your website. Some differences may be expected in the published version, such as:

  • Heading/Normal text may be displayed with fonts, colors, and line spacing to match your site's theme.
  • Tables with 100% or undefined width may adjust their width to the column where they appear.
  • Line lengths may adjust their width to the column where they appear.

Because of these differences, it can be helpful to:

  • Think of the editing form as a space where the most important task is to structure your content (with elements like headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, etc.) moreso than to style it (with specific fonts or colors).
  • Keep in mind that lines may wrap at a different point depending on the width of the column where they will be published.
  • Be familiar with the sitewide styling for your site.
